We used cocoa mix on the cupcake to make it smell like chocolate goodness! As seen in the Stampin' Success magazine (demo magazine, SU! Rocks!) the formula is:
1 part sugar free scented "something" (drink mix, kool-aid, spices, etc)
+
1 1/2 parts crystal clear embossing powder=
heat and sniff!

Stamps: Carved & Candlelit, Perennial Favorites; Ink: P.Pie, W.Wasabi, C. to Cocoa; Paper: W.Wasabi, V.Vanilla; Other stuff: P.Pie 1/4in grograin, brown gingham, c.clear e.p., pumpkin pie spice, c. to cocoa marker, distressing tool in the kit, dimensionals
Please do not attempt this technique with a mix that includes sugar :) It will turn brown and scorch. Resist the urge! (Just eat something really chocolaty instead, right before you make the card :)

Love your scratch-n-sniff card! I am really wanting to try that (and get that stamp set--LOL)!
Did you use Pumpkin Pie craft ink instead of versa mark ink? I really love the pumpkin card and want to show this to my clubs in September. But I looked at my pumpkin pie spice and it is brown and not orange so I think I need pumpkin craft ink which I will have to order.

This was done with classic Pumpkin pie ink. . .I used a versamarker after it was dry to set the embossing powder. I suggest doing half the pumpkin/heating/inking the other half/heating so it doesn't dry too fast if you do it that way. . . Craft ink would work just as well I imagine!
You definitely want orange behind that spice tho'. It looks *much* better than just clear ep and pumpkin spice. I tried it that way first and didn't like how dark it was. . .

I also just remembered. . .
At Convention, they demonstrated inking a stamp with Versamark then coloring it with your marker.
That would also solve the embossing issue. Just remember to scribble the versamark off your marker when you are done :)
